Oh the comfort, the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person, having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but pouring them all right out, just as they are -- chaff and grain together -- certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and with the breath of kindness blow the rest away…

O - means only that she's growing old,
T - is for the tears she shed to save me,
H - is for her heart of purest gold;

Put them all together, they spell "MOTHER," A word that means the world to me.

- Howard Johnson (c. 1915)

From the first hug, the first lullaby, begins her gift of love. As your teacher, guide and friend she is truly a WOW woman. On Mother's Day make your Mom feel special and thank her for her caring ways. And that's not all, Mother's Day is also for you to wish all your friends and family members who are moms! Make this Mom's day memorable. Make her smile with a fun wish !!

Moms have always been celebrated. In ancient Greece the Mother of all Gods, Rhea, was honored in springtime festivities. In England, since the 1600's, "Mothering Sunday" has been celebrated (the 4th Sunday of Lent). It wasn't until 1872 that Mothers' Day in the United States was even suggested. Julia Ward Howe suggested it be a day of peace.

In 1907 Anna Jarvis began campaigning to establish a national Mothers' Day. She started by convincing her mother's church in Grafton, West Virginia, to honor the memory of her mother on the anniversary of her mother's death (the second Sunday in May). The following year, Philadelphia also celebrated Mothers' Day. By 1911 Mothers' Day was celebrated in almost every state in the US. Then finally in 1914 President Woodrow Wilson made Mothers' Day an official national holiday, celebrated on the second Sunday in May

Oscar Wilde 1856-1900, British Author, Wit

Self-denial is the shining sore on the leprous body of Christianity.
-- Abstinence

Art is not to be taught in Academies. It is what one looks at, not what one listens to, that makes the artist. The real schools should be the streets.
-- Academia

Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask, and he will tell you the truth.
-- Acting And Actors

The mere mechanical technique of acting can be taught, but the spirit that is to give life to lifeless forms must be born in a man. No dramatic college can teach its pupils to think or to feel. It is Nature who makes our artists for us, though it may be Art who taught them their right mode of expression.
-- Acting And Actors

While we look to the dramatist to give romance to realism, we ask of the actor to give realism to romance.
-- Acting And Actors

I love acting. It is so much more real than life.
-- Acting And Actors

No, Ernest, don't talk about action. It is the last resource of those who know not how to dream.
